How TeleClasses Work
TeleClasses are classes conducted by phone. They are held on a bridge line, which is a very clear telephone conferencing system. All the participants call the number provided (the bridge line) on the scheduled date and time, and we all "meet" for class on the conference call.
How to Participate
When you register for the TeleClass, you will be sent the bridge number, a security code, and dialing instructions. For your convenience, we have posted the instructions below as well. You may also want to check out the Tips and Frequently Asked Questions.
- If you have call-waiting, please disable it first by dialing *70 and wait for the dial tone.
- Dial the bridge number at the scheduled TeleClass date and time. You will have to enter your assigned pass code which was given to you at registration. If you are the first person to call the bridge, the phone will ring until someone else connects.
- After one ring you will be automatically connected to the bridge line. If there is no connection, hang up and call right back.; if you get a busy signal, try again.
- Those already connected will hear a beep when you join the call. The instructor may say something like, "Hi, who just joined us?" If you're late, the instructor may not acknowledge you, but that doesn't mean you're not welcome.
- Please only speak when you are invited to by the instructor. When you do share, introduce yourself with your name and where you are from. This instructor will then ask you to continue with your comments. ("Hi Ronnie, this is Janet from Kansas... I think that...")
- In order to stay on track, the instructor might ask that you be succinct in your comments. If you are asked to be brief, please understand that it is only to keep the discussion going and get out on time.
- Please don't hang up until the end of the call when everyone hangs up. It makes a noise and if someone is talking, it is difficult to hear.
Recording TeleClasses
This TeleClass will be recorded. By your registering for this TeleClass, you are giving us permission to record your comments, without any compensation to you.
